Blue Dayflower Flower

Blue flower coloration has often been associated with something unusual and desired. In petals the blue color is caused by anthocyanins. Many foods contain anthocyanins including Acai Berry, Raspberry, Blackberry, Blue Corn and others. Anthocyanins are also responsible for autumn colors in leaves.
After a refreshing mountain rain I found this blue Dayflower – Commelina coelestis upon the ridges of Cerro de la Bufa, Zacatecas.
